Last month we had the pleasure of heading to Heidi Higgins Boutique in Portlaoise for their Meet the Milliners event!

We had a a great day in the boutique and met lots of Heidi’s lovely customers! Heidi has a stunning range of dresses to suit all occasions!

Heidi presents a chic & contemporary label that is sensitive to emerging trends, designing luxurious timeless pieces for the modern woman. Heidi’s deftful tailoring techniques paired with canny detailing identify with current catwalks while always retaining her unique aesthetic.

The labels motto represents the “Heidi” look perfectly- “elegance with a twist”.

Heidi’s design approach is to start with basic shapes, introducing new elements of style, ensuring that shape and fit exude femininity while adding a signature splash of colour in luxurious fabrics.

Below is a repost from Heidi’s website about the event!

We had a chance to have the very talented milliner Deb Fanning in the HH Boutique on Saturday 10th March with us.

She came to the boutique to showcase a selection of her beautiful hats and to chat to the customers about her designs.

It was a busy day in the shop and we had a great time with all the ladies that came to admire Deb’s work.

Deb studied with two inspirational milliners Jeanette Pegley-Reed and Davina Lynch to give her the grounding necessary to set up a successful business.

Since then, Deb is mostly self-taught through experimenting with different millinery materials, fabrics and aesthetics.

In the Autumn of 2014 after much thought Deb decided to start her own label Deb Fanning Millinery.

Deb describes her designs as “Contemporary with an Edgy Twist”.

Deb not only designs original bespoke pieces, she also creates a fun and colourful collection of hats and headpieces each season. Leading up to each new millinery collection she has an idea, she grows and nurtures that idea into a theme. This theme percolates into her next millinery collection.

Deb’s designs have featured in Irish TatlerHot PressThe Irish IndependentThe Wedding Journal and TV3’s Xpose to name but a few.
